Philosophy
I believe that all art is created within the context of the human condition. On a surface level, art may be derived from personal experiences or observations made by individual artists, but dig a little deeper and you will find that each of those experiences are much more complex than the individual. Every decision we make is based upon our understanding of the world around us. Every note of a song, every line of a script, are all informed by the rich history of human connection. By placing an emphasis on this shared identity, art can be used to broaden a sense of community and mutual understanding; thus creating a more empathetic and caring world. It is my desire to make art that speaks to all of these qualities; with an overarching hope that the art I create will have a positive impact on the world around us.
